Cerrad receives two prizes in the International ‘A Design Award’ competition

Polish design appreciated worldwide. Cerrad was recognized on the international arena for its outstanding industrial design. The new Marquina Gold and v-shape mattina collections won gold and silver at the international A Design Award competition, in the ‘building materials and construction elements’ category

A’ Design Award & Competition is one of the largest, most prestigious and highly recognized design competitions in the world. Winning the award doesn’t just symbolize outstanding design excellence. It also emphasizes the originality and functionality of the product that’s on the market.

• We are very proud of such prestigious awards.  Especially since our tiles were applauded in Italy the world’s core for ceramic tile design and production. The award is an affirmation that investing in innovative technologies and design makes sense, and that Polish ceramics can confidently go up against products from the largest tile producers in the world – comments Bartek Kwasek, Director of the Product Development Dept., thanking everyone involved in creating the collections.

The A’ Design Award Competition was created in order to promote the best design projects and ideas in all countries, and in a variety of diverse disciplines. The main goal of the A’Design Award & Competition is the development of global awareness and understanding for what is quality design, by highlighting and recognizing the best projects.  A’Design Award is also meant to motivate designers, companies and brands all over the world, to create unique products and projects that will benefit our society as whole.

All entries were judged by an impartial and unbiased, international jury.

Golden A’Design Award for the Marquina Gold collection

The Marquina Gold collection will make every interior elegant, classy and stylish.  It’s a perfect choice for enthusiast of elegant and timeless interiors, designed and decorated with a subtle reference to the latest trends. The pattern tonality ideally reflects the intricate network of veins found in natural stone. Thanks to the use of the latest technology, full-body color gres tiles are extremely durable and resistant, which makes them ideal for use in any space.  Thanks to the LamGea technology, the tiles have a deep structure and a surface that flawlessly mimics that of natural stone, in a thickness of only 6 mm.  The final tile design is completed through the use of specialized technology and particular elements, thanks to which we are able to achieve that special light-play on the surface of the tiles.

Silver A’Design Award for the v-shape Mattina tiles

The answer to the needs of designers and architects was the creation of our gres tiles meticulously imitating wood, and thanks to which, we can now finish a full step with the use of just one element.   V-shape treads were created using special technology, and are now included in our wall and floor tile portfolio, giving us the possibility to create a coherent and harmonious design when dealing with, for instance, a two-level living room, hall or a stylish terrace.  During the tile creation process, the following were extremely important to us: modern, ecological design, functionality and versatility.  Cerrad is one of only two manufacturers in the world that uses this technology.
