We are pleased to announce that the Cerrad Group is among the winners of the prestigious “Forbes Monthly Diamonds” ranking for 2023.
This is an annual title for companies that have most effectively increased their value in the last 3 years. In order to receive this prestigious distinction and be included among the winners of the annual Forbes Diamonds list, a company must prove its effectiveness in the building of a strong brand along with the increase in its business value, which is not easy during this time of economic crisis that’s currently taking place globally.

The Forbes Diamonds List is completed by Dun & Bradstreet Sp. z o. o. and based on the Swiss valuation method for companies, which combines the asset and income methods.
Dun & Bradstreet Sp. z o. o. collects data and based on them, creates databases of businesses to which it has awarded a positive credibility rating. Companies that meet the conditions must also demonstrate a positive financial gain along with the total worth of their equity. The list takes into account companies that have achieved sales revenues of at least PLN 5 million in the last year.
„Cerrad’s strength lies with its excellent team. It’s the driving force for change and the key to success. We’re proud of the fact that we’re creating a strong brand, one that is a source of inspiration for others and is gaining importance in the ceramics industry.”

What’s the best way to choose floor tiles for a room? This element of interior design will remain with us for many years to come, so when making a purchasing decision, apart from purely aesthetic points, you should also take into account the appropriate tile parameters that will make this part of the house not only functional and durable, but also safe to use.
Living room floor tiles
The times when floor tiles were only reserved for spaces such as kitchens or bathrooms have long been forgotten. The wide offer of products on the market means that we can match the right product to any interior style. The design concept is usually the first clue when making choices and the fact that we no longer have to limit ourselves to only choosing between panels and boards opens up vast opportunities for us. Today, wanting to achieve the look of a wooden floor, popular in so many living rooms, that would also work with the atmosphere of a rustic, country or classic home styles, we can reach for products that will not only charm with their beautiful patterns of the real thing, but will at the same time impress with their durability and high resistance to damage. We are talking about wood-like floor tiles of course. Over the years, they have undergone a huge metamorphosis in terms of design and today, it’s safe to say, that they have achieved perfection. The Cerrad brand offers an extremely wide selection of these tiles in various shades and types of staining. Starting from the light and delicate Tonella cream, through Sentimental Wood with its defined graining patterns, and ending with the regally dark Nickwood Marrone tiles. However, it’s not just the patterns that will convince us of its natural look, but the feel of them as well. The structured surface enhances the wood-like effect and makes it difficult to distinguish them from real wood. This is great news for everyone who values functionality as well as aesthetics. And people with houses equipped with heated floors will also love these tiles for their excellent ability to hold and transfer heat.

Matching the floor tiles with the style of your home
When some time ago we invited the concrete motif into our interiors, it turned out that it’s so universal, that it quickly went beyond the initially designated loft or minimalist styles. These days, it successfully functions in many different aesthetics. Concrete floor tiles are a timeless foundation for a house design and often, they themselves become the main star of the design in the entire space. Fans of this type of design base should pay attention to Modern Concrete Silver, that are: slabs inspired by the “concrete jungle” of New York. Cerrad also offers a slightly more raw and a bit darker Softement Graphite option or a warmer Conrete Beige version.
Floor tiles for the bathroom
Floor tiles for the bathroom come in every pattern, size and color. Do you dream of a bathtub set on a wooden floor without the fear of it getting soaked and damaged by the adverse effects of water? Then the wood-like, high-quality gres tiles are here to the rescue. The spectacular Marmo Thassos or Calacatta white tiles are recommended for situation such as this. They beautifully mirror the popular marble motif and are recommended for bathrooms in the glamour, hampton or new modern styles. These products are available in the spectacular XXL sizes (120×280 cm), which allow you to create unusual compositions with them or even use them to create other structural elements (such as table tops, counters or wall decorations). If you want to get closer to nature in your interior design, take a look at the Brazilian Quartzite or Onix Blue tile collections. Their precise mimicking of the natural stone material will emphasize the organic character of the space and will guarantee the WOW effect!

Floor tiles for the kitchen
In places exposed to spilling, splattering and boiling over, we should think about solid materials resistant to all consequences of everyday life. Floor tiles in the kitchen will not be afraid of mechanical damage and frequent washing, if, while choosing the tiles you pay attention to the increased abrasion class, which should have a rating of at last PEI 3.
An additional advantage here will be the appropriate color and finish choice. If you care about the practical side, do not pick tiles that are too light or too dark. With the natural stone-like patters of the Ceppo Nuovo Silver or Masterstone Silver tiles, minor amounts of dirt will not be so visible on them thus, eliminating the need for daily cleaning and sweeping. And if you do not want to spend a lot of time on cleaning and wiping, do not go for the high-gloss tiles either. They add an extra shine, but any small speck of dirt or droplet of water will be reflected by the tile surface just like in a mirror.
Floor tiles are a safe and durable solution that also offer great decorative possibilities. The big advantage is that they can be used in any room, and even on the exterior of the house, which will also help to bring the whole décor concept together. Excellent thermal properties, as well as high resistance to temperatures and damage make them an ideal floor material.
Herringbone tile patterns on walls and floorsThe herringbone pattern is a modern bow to the classic design, which has been very popular among investors in recent years. After years of trends for the calculated flow of elements in interiors, which was mainly characterized by a minimalistic style, the time has come to break patterns and experiment with composition. Take a look at where herringbone patterns will work best.
Wood-like floor tiles in a new role
The herringbone pattern is a simple and effective example of how basic elements of interior design, such as wood-like floor tiles, boards or panels, can create a sophisticated composition that will give the whole room a feel of sophistication and style. This pattern will also be a great break in the vertical and horizontal design flow caused by furniture, window and door trims, wall molding, etc. Additionally, it will also introduce a sense of movement to the whole design with a concurrent, harmonious sequence of repetitions. The herringbone pattern is a great idea for an eye-catching effect for floors in corridors or hallways, because the decorative options for these spaces are often somewhat limited. It will also make floors more appealing that by definition should be as neutral as possible in places such as apartments for sale or rent, or in commercial spaces for instance. The most popular are the pleasant, honey oak shades of Guardian Wood Beige or perhaps the brighter Guardian Wood Light Beige collections, both of which would work best in those scenarios.

Herringbone tile patterns not just for the floor
We don’t have to go on and on about the superiority of wood-like floor tiles over boards or panels. Supporters of functional and durable solutions will be apathetic to the idea of using a natural, raw material in a place that is exposed to frequent contact with water, sand, footwear, pets or intensive child play, and which also requires special care and regular refurbishing. In turn, gres is a durable choice that will last for years, it’s resistant to damage, and it can be used in rooms with heated floors. However, it’s not just on the floors that the herringbone pattern when used, can help to spruce up the space. Consider using it wherever you plan large surfaces arranged with tiles, like as a kitchen backsplash or in bathrooms. Tiles in the bedroom? Why not! A spectacular headboard built of wood-like tiles arranged in a herringbone pattern, continuing all the way up to the ceiling can become the focal point of your room. Here, the dark shade of the Acero Marrone tiles for instance would emphasize the contrast between light walls and bedding let’s say, attracting attention. Nothing else is needed to create a true “wow effect”.
Possible herringbone variations
Over the years and while experimenting with this type of arrangement, three main herringbone patterns have been created. The Hungarian style, which has the tile panels, staves or boards that are cut at 60-degree angles, allowing you to create a gentle zigzag with a stretched like pattern. The French, which is characterized by cuts made at 45 degrees, and which creates a fairly sharp and dynamic scheme. And the English style pattern which can be made of any rectangular board, because the elements are arranged at 90-degree angles. This is the style to use with wood-like tiles. The spectacular size of the tiles (120 x 20 cm) will create an extraordinary decoration in large rooms, on spacious terraces and in other unusual projects, such as when working in the macro style.

Why is it worth considering a herringbone pattern?
Regardless of whether these are textured wood-like tiles with a delicate pattern or if they are completely smooth, this interesting motif, which resembles bones of a fish, such as the herring (where the name comes from), will create an interesting visual effect in any room, regardless of the style. It will be perfect as a counterbalance to the vertical sequence created by cabinet doors or other finishing elements adjacent to them such as panels, boards or slats. A herringbone design also helps to optically enlarge the space and break the monotony by introducing movement and flow to the entire arrangement.
Living room tiles – how to combine patterns and colors? We picked a product because of its high durability ratings, ease of keeping it clean and high thermal conductivity and capacity parameters when it comes to underfloor heating. Now a question remains – how do we match this element of design to the rest of the interior.
What color will be best for the living room tiles?
If you’re wondering what color tiles to use in the living room, take the time and go back a few steps in your deliberations until you settle on the design concept for the entire room. When choosing furnishings, a proven method is to choose three base colors to work off of. This will help to narrow down the search field and will also work in the context of floor choices.
What’s the bast way to combine colors?
If you’re interested in the textbook answer to this question, then you should combine hues from opposite ends of the color palette, on the basis of contrast. It’s a safe solution that you can’t go wrong with, because your eyes and brain love balance. A proportional combination of warm and cool shades will give the room a sense of harmony with an aesthetic order. Cozy, wood-like tiles such as Listria sabbia or the darker Nickwood Marrone, when used on the floor will match the cool color of the walls. And vice versa! The floor in the living room in shades of gray, like those in Softcement white and Masterstone Silver tiles, will complement a room where wood, beiges, browns or reds carry a lot of weight.

However, if you like experiments, forget the above-mentioned rules and combine colors any which way your imagination tells you to. Contemporary trends are quashing all interior design restrictions and they’re inviting you to play with color, form and pattern. The Ceppo Nuovo tiles with the elegant Italian stone pattern or the Onix white tiles with a fashionable onyx banding used on the living room floor, will give the entire interior a specific character, and will also be a great foundation for further decorative additions.
What role does the floor play in the living room?
Another golden rule that will help support you in your decision-making process refers to theater, when you’re encouraged to first choose the main character, and then to subsequently build a scenography around him. Based on this metaphor, choose which element of décor should play the main role and then give it the character you daydream about. It can be done through the use of an imaginative wallpaper pattern, a bold colored sofa, a unique and unusual shape of a chandelier, etc. However, in order not to overdo it, the other elements should not take away attention from the lead, but rather refer to it in way of supporting roles. According to this analogy, if you put focus on a decorative floor, a richly decorated wall or designer furniture, let the other elements be more elementary. A safe solution will be a subtle concrete motif of Conrete Graphite or the warmer Concrete Beige for example.

What’s the end objective for your design?
Don’t forget that interior design, apart from the aesthetic and functional outcomes, also has great abilities to mask flaws and highlight advantages of spaces. With small, dark rooms for instance, floor tiles in light shades and with a high gloss finish, such as the Marmo Thassos, will work perfectly. If, on the other hand, we have a large area to work with, and we would like to give it a cozy and comfortable atmosphere, we can isolate various sections of the space with the help of the living room floor. The sections will optically reduce the space and clearly indicate the role each area is playing (a reading spot, a place to rest, dining area, etc.). Rooms with high ceilings can be visually lowered by creating thoughtful tile compositions on the walls.
Wall tiles in the living room – is that a good idea?
Tiles have long ceased to be a material intended only for spaces that can get wet, such as the kitchen, bathroom or restroom. Once associated with only high functionality and their resistance to moisture, today they’re available in such a wide range of colors that everyone will certainly find a product that’s ideal for them. Wall tiles in the living room are perfect for places exposed to damage or dirt, like around the fireplace, around patio or balcony doors, in the dining room, around closets or in places where wood is stored, etc. They will also be an excellent and a much cheaper substitute for marble, quartzite and other stones. The Calacatta, Brazilian Quartzite or Marquina tiles, which come in sizes as large as slabs of natural, raw materials, will make a great impression and not just on the floor.
Cerrad living room tiles are products of not only excellent quality but also with extremely precise and unique patterns. They are a great counterpart to floorboards or panels and they invite you to create a composition that goes beyond the obvious and typical ideas. They have excellent technical parameters, which makes them an extremely durable and functional material intended for finishing of floors, walls and even ceilings!
Small kitchen designsThe subject of a small kitchen is usually an issue for owners of apartments, condos, row houses, etc. When it comes to fighting for every inch of space, often the bedroom or living room become staging areas during cooking prep. The good news however, is that even if it’s impossible to physically increase the surface area, it’s possible to enlarge the space optically! By using kitchen tiles for example.
There is a solution for everything!
The problem of designing a small kitchen is one of the most common issues that investors turn to interior designers with. Fortunately, there are a few proven tricks to hide the weak aspects of a space. Kitchen tiles are one of the basic elements that will distract from the modesty of an area. Properly selected, they will help to visually enlarge the room and make it functional and pleasing to the eye.

Above all else, play with colors
It’s well known that light colors visually enlarge spaces, and dark colors make a space feel smaller. In a small kitchen in an apartment for instance, we should use bright colors, especially when there’s not enough natural light coming in, which unfortunately happens very often when there are other buildings all around casting shade. But remember that the tone of the color also matters quite a bit in these situations. Cool colors help to visually move objects away from one another, while warm colors bring them closer. White glaze on the Cambia white lappato tiles or the Foggia bianco bricks will be a safe solution in a small kitchen. Another important thing to keep in mind is that if we choose the smaller sized tiles, we should then also make the joints between these tiles as thin as possible and we should fill them with grout that matches the surface color of the tiles as close as possible. Wide joints will emphasize the shape of the entire composition and may draw attention to its small size.
Extra glow
Another way to illuminate the room and thus create the impression of spaciousness will be the glow created by the reflection of natural and artificial light from the polished surface of the tiles. So, consider tiles with a high-gloss glaze, with a fine, white marble pattern for example, as featured on the spectacular Marmo Thassos slabs. This applies to both, kitchen tiles on the floor and on the wall, in the space between the lower and upper cabinets for instance.

Wall tiles in the kitchen will help to “expand” the surface
In the game of size, color is not the only thing that matters. When designing small rooms, the way we orient the tiles is also important. The main rule is that we should lay the tiles horizontally on the plane that we want to expand. Rectangular wall tiles for the kitchen arranged horizontally will optically lengthen the walls. The same principle applies for floors. Here, a “diamond” arrangement is additionally recommended for square tiles, which will help to visually round out the area, and if working with rectangular tiles, shifting them by 1/3 or ½ will help.
Tile patterns for a small kitchen – what to pick?
In a small room, we look for additional space and focus on simple forms, so let’s give up busy decorations and patterns both, when it comes to kitchen tiles on the floor and on the walls. It’s better then, to leave the fashionable azulejo and patchwork motifs for use in larger rooms. Same goes for shapes. A small kitchen is not a place for hexagons, arabesques, fans, or the currently popular three-dimensional tiles. However, if you do not want to use completely smooth tiles, the solution can be a delicate but specific pattern, like those resembling natural stone in the Tacoma White tiles or the slightly more pronounced version of the Masterstone White collection.
The current offer of kitchen tiles from Cerrad is so diverse and broad, that even if the kitchen space that we’re working in is limited, every investor will still be able to find a product that fits their project perfectly. Contrary to popular beliefs, there really are a lot of possibilities because we can play with colors, shades, shapes, sizes, patterns and the orientation of tiles in our arrangements. The effect of expanding the space can be additionally enhanced by properly selected lighting, simple forms of furniture and accessories, and even the presence of mirrors (on cabinet sides or in window niches for example).
