Cerrad will donate 100,000 PLN to the Starachowice District Health Care Center, which was converted into an infectious hospital for the treatment of coronavirus patients. 50,000 PLN of financial aid will also be donated to the Dr. Tytus Chałbiński Radom Specialized Care Hospital, which is also currently functioning as an infectious hospital.
In addition, the Mazowiecki Specialized Care Hospital in Józefów will receive 50,000 PLN worth of much needed personal protective equipment, which will include FFP3 masks and protective suits. The from and method of delivering these donations was decided and agreed upon with the directors of each individual institution.
– We all feel the effects of this epidemic, both social as well as economic, and this also applies to our industry. Regardless of the challenges we have to face in this difficult and unusual situation, it’s important we stand in solidarity. Medical services are on the frontlines fighting this horrible virus, while at the same time providing help to patients afflicted with other illnesses. We decided to support the hospitals in Starachowice and Radom in this fight that has affected us all, by offering them financial and material aid, to the best of our abilities – commented Halina Bąk, Cerrad CSR board representative.
– Each one of us can contribute to fighting the epidemic by doing things like limiting direct contact with others, following the established guidance, orders and bans, as well as respecting and not abusing the lifting and easing of some, of the enforced restrictions. With the proposed gradual opening of the economy, it does not mean that that the situation is under control, but rather that the individuals and society now have to increase their alertness and vigilance in day to day activities. We have to be cautious and ready for further progression of infections. The attitude and readiness of people and companies that are willing to help and share their resources during these difficult times is extremely comforting. We would like to thank Cerrad, and the other donors for the much-needed help – commented Grzegorz Kaleta, director of the hospital in Starachowice.
Why did Cerrad decide to help and support the medical facilities in Starachowice and Radom? Because we have very close ties to each of the cities. Starachowice is the location of the company headquarters and its production plants and facilities, whereas many of the company’s employees come from nearby Radom, which was the location of Cerrad’s first factory before moving to Starachowice.
